GET YOUR EXCUSE READY
Frank Robinson, the local sci-fi writer, was browsing through a used-book store and found a copy of his novel, The Gold Crew, autographed warmly to his friend, Burleigh Sutton. A mutual friend, Tom Youngblood was there when the book was discovered in the bookstore, and couldn’t wait to warn his friend, Burleigh, “You’ve been found out!” But the next time Burleigh ran into Robinson, the author, at a party, his first words were, “Frank! Did you hear about my burglary?” Adapted from Herb Caen, San Francisco Chronicle
