NOTHING COULD BEAT ME
This happened in the 10,000 meter race in the Munich, Olympics. Entered in this race was a young man from Finland by the name of Lasse Viren. Nobody expected him to even place in this race he wasn’t even listed among the top 15 runners of the world. But he had trained for the Olympics and committed himself to this event. 85,000 people are present in the stadium, the gun goes off, and 75 men take off to run 25 laps, about 6 and 1/2 miles. He’s got it going, this is it, it’s his great chance. Two and one- half laps into it, with elbows and legs flying, the man who was expected to win was hit and thrown out off the track, unconscious.
