JUMPING CONDITIONS
There are times we are called upon to make tough decisions without as much information as we would like. Such was the case with a group of soldiers from Nepal — the Gurkhas — who fought on the side of Malaysia and Britain against Indonesia in 1964. The Gurkhas were not trained as paratroopers, but a particular mission required that they parachute into a remote location in Borneo. The British asked them to volunteer to jump for this mission, but they provisionally declined.
