One of the books I have most enjoyed in recent days is Megatrends by John Naisbitt (Warner Books, $15.50). The subtitle is “Ten New Directions Transforming Our Lives.” John Naisbitt is the chairman of the Naisbitt Group, a Washington, D.C. based research and consulting firm, and publisher of the quarterly Trend Report. The book is the absolutely fascinating compilation of the ten most significant changes that are taking place in the jumble of today’s world — showing how our social, political, cultural and economic world is changing right now and where these trends are leading us. He also explores the implications and opportunities of these changes. The ten transforming changes are: 1. Industrial Society to Information Society; 2. Forced Technology to High Tech/High Touch; 3.
