“…He has risen” (Luke 24:6).

It was back in the mid-fifties when a British clergyman started feeling some discomfort in his throat. Then he began to notice that he was tending to drag one leg. His doctor ’s diagnosis correctly revealed that the man was suffering from a progressive disease which caused the muscles to atrophy. Regretfully, the doctor told his patient, in effect, that his life was withering away; that his muscles were wasting away; that soon he would have no voice and he would not be able to swallow. The clergyman responded with great courage. He wrote articles for religious publications, he wrote books on the spiritual life, and he helped organize prayer groups throughout England. When friends…
