“Do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.” (Mt. 6:25-26).

Our almanacs tell us that one of the signs of the coming of an extraordinarily harsh winter is that the berry bushes will produce more berries than usual — an example of the birds being provided for even though they cannot “sow or reap or gather into barns.” Sparrows will die, of course. And so too will we.…
