After Church, a woman went to the zoo. As she was walking around the various animal sites, she came upon an eagle in a cage. She marveled at the eagle’s powerful, beautifully-feathered wings that were meant for flying. And, as she stood there, she remembered those words from Paul’s Letter and she heard herself saying, half-aloud: “Made for the skies and crammed in a cage.” And she was reminded of the Danish theologian Soren Kierkegaard, who told the story of a wild duck flying south for the winter…
