A mother was in bed with the flu and her little daughter was doing her best to be a good “nurse.” She fluffed the pillow under mother’s head, gave her a magazine to read, and then took it upon herself to surprise her with a cup of tea. The tea was just what mother wanted and the little girl watched with pride and pleasure as mother drank every drop. When she had finished, mother said, “Dear, you’ve never made tea before. When did you learn how to do it?” “Oh, just from watching you make it,” the child replied. “I boiled the tea leaves in a pan and then I poured the tea into your cup through the strainer. But I couldn’t find the real strainer, so I used the fly swatter.” “You used what?” mother exclaimed worriedly. “Oh, don’t worry, mommy,” the little girl assured her, “I didn’t use the new fly swatter, I used the old one.”
