It was five pm on a Friday in a big downtown office. Some of the employees already were beginning to head for the exits. Others were preparing to do so. Said one woman who had experienced a particularly “bad day at the office”: “Why, I wonder, do we keep coming here day-after-day?” Said the man at the next desk, ”I think it has something to do with rent.”
