A little boy named Torre was looking through a box of his things that his grandmother had saved. He came upon a little blue plastic wristband. “What’s this?” he asked. “That’s what they put on your wrist in the hospital when you were born” grandmother replied…

“Why is it blue?” Torre asked. “Because you’re a boy. It’s blue for boys and pink for girls.”

“Oh, so God’s up in the sky and the sky is blue. Is God a boy?”

We delight in the sheer innocence of a child’s curiosity about God:

. . . Is God a boy? . . . Does God know all about stuff before it’s invented? . . . How did God know He was God? . . . Is God tougher than Superman?

We even delight in the unique sense of awe and wonder we experience at the sight of a child’s unabashed, unafraid, uninhibited exploring and romping in the park.
