Imagine for a moment that you are back in Old Testament times, living in the little country of Judah that has been your home for centuries. Everything you’ve worked for and dreamed of having, everything that is important to you, is rooted in Juctah. Then the mighty Babylonian Armies come, robbing your little land, ravaging it beyond any hope of recovery, destroying your home, raping the women, killing the children in the most brutal ways, sowing salt in the fields so that for generations to come there will be no crops and no food. And the Holy Temple, the center of your worship of the one, true, God Almighty, leveled to the ground. Your King is forced to watch the execution of his own son and his eyes are plucked out immediately so that his last memory as a seeing man is the death of his boy. Then the king and other leading citizens are carried off into exile-including the Prophet Ezekiel.
