The Gracious God

One of the striking features of our time which we must confront as Christians, is the fact that there are so many people who believe that Creation Itself is against us–that God is against us. So many believe this because the kinds of problems we have in today’s world appear to be growing larger and sometimes seem insurmountable. All of us have had the experience of picking up the newspaper or having something happen to us, and we feel overwhelmed and wonder where God is in all this after all.

When informed persons talk about how long it would take for the whole thing to be over if something happens to trigger a nuclear war, they talk in terms of minutes.
