Philip, an eight-year-old, was considerably backward for his age. For this reason, he wasn’t fully accepted by his Sunday School classmates. Philip didn’t choose to be different, of course. Like each one of us, he just was who he was. On Easter Sunday, the teacher came up with a creative plan for the kids. For several months she had been saving those pantyhose containers that look lake Easter eggs. Each child received a great big pantyhose “egg.” It was a beautiful spring day and the assigned task was this: all the children were to go outside the Church, find symbols for New Life, put them in their eggs, and bring them back to the classroom. There they would open them and share their “New Life” surprises one-by-one. When all the children had returned, the teacher put all the “eggs” on the table and began to open them.
