From time-to-time God reveals himself in the lives of certain people in a very dramatic way — a way that often changes the course of history. The conversion of Paul on the road to Damascus is probably the classic example of this Divine phenomenon. He could not understand what was happening to him — and then, Wham! God revealed Himself to Paul in a blinding light that literally knocked him to the ground. Whereupon, Paul heard a voice saying, “Why do you persecute Me?” Paul replied, “Who are you, sir?” And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting” (Acts 9:4,5).
