Did you know that in the Hebrew language the word “Bethlehem” means “House of Bread”? Jesus was born in the “House of Bread.” And He came out of that House and He grew into adulthood, and He entered into a public ministry in which He identified Himself as the Living Bread, the Bread of Life. And He died and He rose again so that this place could be our Bethlehem, our House of Bread, where we partake of the food of eternal life.
In recent years, in this country, we have become more-and-more nutrition conscious. We have awakened to the fact that we are what we eat. And so, among other things, there is immense interest in eating the right food. Health-food stores are everywhere. Food companies have been forced to be more honest in their advertising and more detailed in their labeling. Book-store shelves are overflowing with nutrition advice. And we have become conscious, as never before, of the relationship between good eating habits…
