An old hunter took his new retriever out early one morning to test him out. The old man shot a bird and it fell into the water. The dog immediately darted after it, walked on top of the water, picked up the dead bird, returned on top of the water, and dropped the bird at his master’s feet. The old hunter rubbed his eyes in disbelief, but decided it really didn’t happen. Then he set himself up to shoot again.
He shot a second bird, and again the dog retrieved the bird by walking on top of the water. Amazed by his dog’s behavior, the old hunter decided to show off the animal to his best friend. So he invited him to go out hunting early the next morning. His friend got the first shot and hit a bird.
