In today’s Gospel Lesson Jesus says, “Anyone who does not carry his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.” But there is a price to pay if we would follow Christ. Jesus asks, “Which of you here, intending to build a tower, would not first sit down and work out the cost” (Lk. 14:28).
A talented cellist was scheduled to play before a very critical audience. Although he had a fine instrument, he was not satisfied with the quality of its sound.
