There is a timeless story about Satan, the Master Devil, seated on his throne …

All the minor devils are gathered at his feet, waiting for instructions. Satan speaks, “Who will go out and work for the ruin of souls on earth?”

One of the minor devils answers, “I will.” Satan asks, “What will you tell them?” The minor devil replies, “I’ll tell them there is no God.” Satan is not pleased. “That will not do,” he says, “People on Earth know there is a God.”

Then a second minor devil volunteers, “I will work for the ruin of souls on Earth. I’ll tell the people that they are too evil to come to God.” Again, Satan is not pleased, saying, “That will not do either. They will be able to read in their Bibles that God invites sinners to come to Him.”
