The state official whose job it was to approve these requests said, “I’m not about to assign number one to someone and disappoint a thousand people.” What was his solution? He assigned number one to himself.
Where is man’s creativity more apparent than in his ability to discover new and original ways to commit the original sin spelled out in the very beginning of the Holy Bible — the sin of pride.
The story unfolds in the Book of Genesis when the devil convinces Adam and Eve that he had found a way for them to move God over and become number one. Adam and Eve make the attempt to move God over, so to speak, and with disastrous results.
But the beat goes on! We keep right on looking for ways to succeed…
