In the first frame is a picture of a football player with the world “HERO” spelled out on his helmet. The picture is entitled “Professional Sports.”
The second frame shows a man with sparkling white teeth, glaring out from a TV screen. This picture is entitled “TELEVISION.”
In the third frame, just two words appear, in big letters: “Buy More.” This frame is entitled “COMMERCIALISM.”
The cartoonist shows the wife asking her husband, “Whatever happened to our family values in this country?” To which the husband, in an obvious reference to the frames overhead, replies, “Those ARE our family values in this country.”
