"Love never fails” (I Corinthians 13:8a).
In these words, the Apostle Paul provides a long list of requirements for expressing true love. We can summarize those requirements in a single, profoundly important word. That word is commitment.
Fritz Kreisler, the world-famous violinist, was approached backstage by an enthusiastic fan who cried, “Mr. Kreisler, it must be such a joy to be able to play the violin so beautifully. I would commit my life to play as you do!” To which Mr. Kreisler replied quietly, “Madame, I did.”
