THE DANGER OF WINTER
Cold weather. Whether it is snow or freezing rain or even a sunny day with freezing temperatures and a biting cold breeze, winter can be tough to take. So we bundle up in our warmest clothes. We try to hide any exposed areas of our bodies under wool or any other warm material we can get. We tend to stay inside more. We like to huddle up where it is warm and cozy. But therein lies the danger. While we make every effort to shut out the cold, we often shut other people out as well. Attempting to avoid cold germs, we refrain from all unnecessary personal human contact as well. In doing so, we develop a mentality that pushes people away. We nurture a state of mind that secludes us even when we are out in public. I have noticed that in the South, people tend to make small talk with strangers very easily.
