A PATERNAL MISTAKE
Father Story # 2: I heard of a father who, under the pressure of unreasonably heavy outside demands, became so rude toward his family that they dreaded his coming home. One morning after he criticized family members at breakfast, he dashed out the front door on his way to work, leaving a cloud of tension over the entire family. His young son, seeing the fear in his mother’s eyes, ran and took her hand in his and said, “Mother, we made an awful mistake when we married Daddy, didn’t we?” From Ray Franklin Koonce, “Model of Maleness,” Living with Preschoolers magazine, Jan – Mar, 1992, pgs. 30-31
