THE SUCCESS OF THE SONG
I spoon-fed my 2 year old parts of “Jesus Loves Me,” hoping he’d learn the most important part: “Jesus loves me; this I know.” We sang that line over and over. Then one day he blurted out: “Doctor, doctor, give me a cwue. I got a bad case of woving you!”. His babysitter had taught him that one. And I knew it was time to introduce him to all of “Jesus Loves Me.” Children love music. And certain tunes do stick in their minds. But what makes a song lovable and memorable?
