CLOCK CHRISTIANS
The Christian life is a little like the dial or face of a clock. The hands are God’s hands, passing over and over again. The short hand is the hand of the law and discipline. The long hand is the hand of mercy and grace. Slowly and surely the hand of law and discipline must pass, and God speaks at every stroke. But over and over passes the hand of mercy and grace, showering down a twelve-fold blessing for each stroke of discipline and trial. Both hands are fastened to one secure pivot; the great unchanging love of God in Christ Jesus.
