ALFRED THE BUNNY
Natalie Koltz, an eighth grader in our school, wrote the following story and shared it with the student body on Student Appreciation Day. I felt it was one of the best stories I had heard in a long time on stressing our self-image and to appreciate the gifts God has given to each one of us. Alfred was a bunny. He hopped around all day long. He was a happy bunny. Everyday Alfred would watch the eagles soar overhead. How he longed to fly. One day when Alfred was watching the eagles, he called out, “Hello up there! Please come down and talk to me.” Soon there was a large, wise- looking old eagle standing next to Alfred. The eagle spoke in a slow, deep voice. “What do you wish to speak to me about, little bunny?” “How do you fly?” the curious bunny asked. “God gave eagles wings to fly,” the eagle replied. “I wish to fly,” the little bunny…
