JOE GIBBS ON LEADERSHIP
Here are some coaching tips from Joe Gibbs. The recently retired Washington Redskins coach says: Work hard, but leave the job at the office. Hire the best people, delegate a great deal of authority to them. Set ambitious goals, but be realistic. Communicate well. Let people know what you expect, but avoid hype. Be well- prepared and well-organized. Stay focused. Know exactly what you’re going to do and let nothing distract you. Be flexible. Implement major changes in strategy if conditions require them. Motivate by example and encouragement, but don’t rant and rave. From Ministry Advantage, May – June, 1993, published by Fuller Evangelistic Association
