When planting a garden, consider the following: 1. Plant 5 rows of peas: Promptness, Perseverance, Peace, Patience, Piety. 2. Plant 5 rows of squash: Squash gossip, Squash indifference, Squash criticism, Squash childishness, Squash suspicion. 3. Plant 4 rows of turnips: Turn up for church, turn up with a smile, turn up with enthusiasm, turn up with determination to make everything count for something good and worthwhile. 4. Plant 8 rows of lettuce: Let us be true to our obligations, let us be loyal and unselfish, let us respect one another, let us be faithful to duty, let us share our faith with our neighbors, let us give sacrificially for the advancement of God’s work, and let us show love to one another.
