IMPERFEFT TIMING
We don’t like change. And it is hard to do. That’s made obvious in a recent Calvin & Hobbes comic strip. Calvin and Hobbes are outside playing in the snow, discussing Christmas and the likelihood of Calvin’s getting any presents when Calvin says, “O.K., Hobbes, I’ve got a plan.” “Yeah?” says Hobbes, his curiosity up. Calvin outlines his plan, “If I do ten spontaneous acts of good will a day from now until Christmas, Santa will have to be lenient in judging the rest of this last year! I can claim I’ve turned a new leaf!” Hobbes ponders, “Ten spontaneous acts of good will a day? That’s pretty many.” Calvin frowns and says, “Don’t remind me.” Hobbes turns, looks down the street and then says, “Well, here’s your chance.
