GILBRETH ON HUMOR
Two of Frank Gilbreth’s children wrote about their father in the book Cheaper by the Dozen. They portrayed a remarkable father of twelve children who was an efficiency engineer who applied these principles to his family with incredible consistency. Their candid accounts shared the good and the bad of this proud man. Frank Gilbreth loved to play practical jokes on others. This is what they had to say about their father’s humor when he became the recipient of practical jokes. “Dad loved a joke on himself, all right. But he loved it best a few months after the joke was over, and not when it was happening.” From Cheaper by the Dozen, Frank B. Gilbreth, Jr. and Earnestine Gilbreth Carey
