MOST IMPORTANT LUGGAGE
A group of soldiers were released from a prison camp at the end of World War II. There was little transportation, and it looked like the weather would cut off the port for an extended period of time. Most of the soldiers who remained were to board the last boat. Due to limited space on the boat, they were told to bring only their most important piece of luggage. Two men had been imprisoned together throughout the war. They had cared for one another and had developed a genuine love one for the other. One of them was chosen to leave and one would have to wait for quite a while for a later boat. The man who was chosen emptied his dufflebag without hesitation. He told his friend to get in his dufflebag. And he carried his most valuable possession into the boat. From Clergy Journal
