LOYALTY MISPLACED
There was a man who had a special dream for his country. He loved his country with a deep passion. He felt his country and his people were the best ever. He began proclaiming that message and soon had a large following. In fact he got his country excited about the idea. There were rallies and marches. Citizen after citizen stood up and proclaimed loyalty to this country. Millions joined the army and prepared to fight. They were willing to give their lives to the cause. Throughout the land that call of loyalty was summarized in “Heil, Hitler!” The toll of that misplaced loyalty was the death of three million German soldiers and the wounding of over seven million. Why is it that some can offer such loyalty to a false cause and Christians have a hard time offering such loyalty to Christ?
