BUFFALO SHUTTLE
I relate to the fellow who asked for a ticket to New York City. The airlines clerk asked, “By Buffalo?” “I guess that’s O.K.,” the customer replied, “if the saddle’s comfortable.” Yes, that’s me. As I’ve noted before, Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you always.” Even though I haven’t flown in several years, I have made numerous trips to Kansas City International Airport. I have come to observe that many saints in the pews are like people sitting in an airline terminal. They see the action, hear announcements of arrivals and departures, watch all the hustle and bustle and they imagine themselves a part of the flow. And yet, they never purchase a ticket or board a plane. They are always left standing at the gate. They are spectators.
