WRONG RECIPIENT
The hostess at a very elaborate dinner party was seated quite a distance from one of her guests — an actress of some fame. Seeking to help all of her guests have a more pleasant evening, she wrote a note to the actress and had the maid deliver it. The actress couldn’t read without her glasses, so she asked the man on her right to read it to her. “It says,” he read, “`Darling, do me a favor and don’t ignore the man on your right. I know he is a bore, but talk to him anyway.'”
