SWEET TASTE OF PROVERBS
Someone should make Christian fortune cookies with the proverbs written on the paper inside. Fortune cookies are fun, aren’t they? I know that when I get a fortune cookie, I eagerly open it up to see what the fortune will say. You see, I’ve learned to associate the fortune with the sweet taste of the cookie! We should be at least that eager to unfold for ourselves and our families the wise sayings of God’s Word that bring with them the promise that, if we apply them to our lives, they will give us better lives. So here’s an idea: Cut the Proverbs out of your Bible (or download your computer Bible program) and then cut them out into little strips of paper and serve them with dessert each night. Teach your children to associate God’s Word with something that’s delightful! By Jeffrey A. Collins, Park Street Baptist Church, Pittsfield, New Hampshire
