On December 5, 1901, a child was born in a sleepy suburb of southern Chicago to middle-class parents. His parents hoped that their son would achieve much in his lifetime. Little did they know then how their son would impact the entire world in a wonderful and unique way! During his sixty-five years on earth, this humble man pioneered what we now associate as family entertainment. His creation Mickey Mouse is one of the most recognized figures in the entire world. He gave us Snow White, Dumbo, Pinochio, and even Bambi. He knew how to make us laugh, and he understood well the value of making people smile. By his own admission just prior to his death in 1966, he felt of all the things he had accomplished in life, the greatest was the ability to bring happiness to others.
