JUST A KNOCK OFF
I remember one time as a teenager, I bought a Bulova wristwatch for twenty dollars from a guy in downtown St. Louis. It was such a good deal that I thought I stole it. After about three months though, the thing quit, so I took it to get repaired. The watch repairman asked how much I had paid for it, so I told him. Then he told me that the watch was only worth about five dollars, it was a “knock off.” You know what a “knock off” is don’t you? It’s a cleverly disguised copy that is made to look like the original, but the quality of the original just isn’t there. The watch repairman showed me how I had gotten taken. What I thought said Bulova actually said Bulovia. I had been taken in by a “knock off,” a phony. There are all kinds of knock offs. There are all kinds of phonies, even in the church. Jesus…
