BUT WE ARE WITH NELSON
Joseph Conrad, an English Novelist, in one of his essays, quotes from a letter from Sir Robert Stopford. Stopford was one of Horatio Nelson’s men. He was commander of one of the ships with which Nelson chased to the West Indies a fleet nearly twice as large. Describing the hardships and experiences of that desperate adventure, Stopford wrote the words: “We are half-starved, and otherwise inconvenienced by being so long out of port. But our reward is – we are with Nelson.” Such are the turmoils and sufferings of those who journey with Christ. The ultimate victory is secure, but the battles are severe. The joy of the suffering is this: “We are with Christ!” Source Unknown
