THE SIMPLE GOSPEL MESSAGE
C. H. Spurgeon, the late “Prince of Preachers,” tells of his conversion experience: a man who was almost illiterate was preaching from the simple text in Isaiah 45:22 — “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Spurgeon said the preacher began by saying “This is a very simple text indeed. It says ‘Look.’ Now that don’t take a great deal of effort. It ain’t lifting your foot or your finger; it is just ‘look.'” The preacher went on: “A man need not go to college to learn to look.
