POINTING WITH PLOWS
Bernie Bierman had a classic answer to the frequent question, “How do you get such big men for your Minnesota football teams?” It’s like this friend. When I go driving along country roads, I look for boys walking behind plows. When I see one, I stop and ask him the way to Minneapolis. If he leaves the plow and points the way in the usual manner, I thank him and drive on. But if he picks up the plow and points with it, I just load him in the car and head straight for the registrar’s office.
