MOM TOO HELPFUL
The Associated Press reported on August 5, 1995 of a mother who was just a little too concerned for her son’s career. She apparently wanted to give him a little boost, allow him to make a little extra money. You see, her son worked for the United States Forest Service — as a firefighter. As a seasonal firefighter he received a base salary but was paid extra while fighting fires. So his mother saw to it that he got to fight fires. According to investigators, this sixty-year-old Mount Shasta mother had set five brush fires in the past year along a Northern California highway. She could get twenty years in jail for her maternal attempt in advancing her son’s career. Oh, by the way, her son no longer works for the Forest Service. Thanks Mom!
