GOD LEAVES MESSAGES
The Actual Account: Since I am the pastor of three Lutheran churches, I have to make the use of an answering machine both at my home office and at a second office. On one particular morning in which I left extra early for the church office, the phone rang at home and woke my two-year-old son. Soon he was up out of bed and standing at the top of the stairs. My wife was in a different room when my voice was projected off the answering device and then she heard my little son say, “What’s that?” And then with a pause, after reflecting on the sound of my voice one more time, he exclaimed, “What’s that–It’s Jesus Christ!!” That previous evening in Vacation Bible School he had learned a song about Jesus talking and speaking to us.
