CHILDLIKE TRUST
When I sailed the first time from America to Japan (where I worked as a missionary), I took a Danish freighter. The voyage was stormy. The captain, a Christian, told me one night, “Do you know how I learned to trust? Let me tell you.” He was accompanied on one of his journeys by his wife and little daughter who was about 8 or 9 years old. They had a stormy voyage, much like ours at that time. He had given orders for all hands on deck and had already lowered the life boats. The last thing he did was to wake his little daughter. Everyone was already on deck, but she was still in the cabin and asleep. Her mother woke her and said, “Get up quickly.
