NO PARKING
When Sennacherib was King of Assyria (704-681 B.C.) he had “No Parking” signs posted along the processional way to Ninevah, with the inscription: “Royal Road, let no man lessen it.” Charioteers who disobeyed the warning signs were killed and impaled on sticks in front of their own dwellings.
