A RIGHT NICE TRIBUTE
Then there’s the story of the uninformed protestant who happened to be visiting Rome on a day when the Pope was holding an audience at the Vatican. Throngs of people were cheering him as he appeared out on the balcony. The protestant looked up and saw all the adulation and said to his guide, “Who’s that they’re cheering for?” The guide said, “That’s the Pope. He lives here. He’s in charge.” The people kept cheering the Pope. The protestant said, “That’s mighty nice. How did he get all of this?” The guide said, “The Cardinals voted him in.” The protestant said, “I’m impressed. You know, the Giants should of done something like this for Willy Mays.”
