GOD’S LEADING
“Don’t be stupid like a horse or a mule, which must be controlled with a bit and bridle to make it submit.” Psalm 32:9 With a deep sigh, I looked into the big brown eyes of our little donkey. Her small feet were planted firmly; her neck muscles arched against the pressure of the lead rope. The hay at her side and the green lawn under her feet looked more inviting than the distant pasture. I clucked; I pulled; I coaxed her with oats. Nothing. The word stubborn had taken on new meaning. Finally I looped the lead rope over her rear end and back to her head. I now pulled her with both hands. Ah — motion, at last. With her straining against the rope, taking mincing, reluctant steps, we finally reached the pasture of green alfalfa shoots.
