THE LIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS
At Christmas time there’s no place half so treasured as one’s own home, whose wreath-hung windowpanes and candle-lighted sills show gladness and joy within. Light from the glowing Chandelier and flaring logs add to the festive cheer and shimmer of the snow-draped world outside. Oh, home is very dear, at Christmastide. Then, when the joy has left a mere, low flicker in my thoughts, I love to sit in quiet solitude and hear the clock tick intimately while I sit and meditate. Or read, or write a note or poem, or maybe sing a hymn. In undertones, the carols which I lock deep in my heart, with every joyous, precious thing. Adapted from a piece by Bernice Anderson.
