A BIG CHRISTMAS FAMILY GATHERING
On Friday evening before Thanksgiving Mr. and Mrs. Benoit of Creston, Connecticut received word that Mrs. Benoit’s sister and her husband had been in an accident on the icy highway and were killed instantly. They left nine children, ages eighteen months to eighteen years. At four o’clock in the morning, on the following day, Mr. and Mrs. Benoit, who had four children of their own, reached a decision. Rather than see her sister’s nine children divided up among the relatives, she and her husband decided to include them all in their own family. Such a decision stirred a great deal of interest in the community. A reporter went to see if he could find out whether it was really going to work.
