CIRCUMSTANCES
How often, when someone asks us how we are doing, do we reply, “All right, under the circumstances”? But have we ever thought about what we are saying? For God never intended that we live under circumstances, to be crushed by them. Godly living aims at triumph. Still, all too often we lose the struggle with the circumstances of life. We become tangled in the webs of problems that steal the stamina and enthusiasm we want to mark our walk of faith. Startlingly, God, in changing our lives through faith, often leaves the circumstances which surround us exactly as they were. The number and the intensity of our problems after salvation are at least equal to and perhaps greater than before our conversion. The difference is that we no longer have to stand alone.
