WORK IT OUT!
The kingdom of heaven is like a young boy named Terry, who loved to tinker. He took apart everything he could get his hands on – radios, toasters, washing machine timers, television sets, cars – you name it, and chances are Terry had taken it apart. One day Terry’s grandmother found an old clock which no longer would function. Knowing her grandson’s love for tinkering, she gave the clock to Terry for him to take apart, which he promptly did. Not only did our hero take the clock apart, he also cleaned the parts, and put them back together. And when he did, the clock worked! Suppose, however, that Terry had refused to accept the clock. Or, suppose he would have taken the clock home, put it on a shelf in his room and never touched it again. Obviously, he would not have enjoyed the benefit of the gift. Could this same principle apply to what Paul says in Philippians 2:12…
